CURRENT IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WELCOME TO THE 2008-09 SCHOOL YEAR! THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENTS DEAL WITH CURRENT ACTIVITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES:

  • ATTENTION IMPORTANT UPDATE!!: To date our funding has not materialized. Therefore, there will be no teacher training program until further notice. However, we ARE planning to do the salmon spawning student field trips at the Cle Elum River site from September 18 to October 8, 2008. Please contact us ASAP to schedule with us for that activity. September 24, 25, & 26 have already been filled. We have installed interpretive signs and have an informational brochure this year to enhance the learning experience. (Posted 9/3/08)


  • SALMON VIEWING TRAIL: The interpretive signs for the Salmon Viewing Trail were installed yesterday by a team from the CleElum Ranger District: Wally Shearer, Michael Andler, & Kenny Kammeier. Students from the Don & Verna Duncan Civic Engagement Center at CWU designed the graphics. You can see by the photo how happy I am to be done with this project!!:

  • BIRD DATA COLLECTION PROJECTS: If you would like your students to be involved in collecting data on birds in your area to be submitted to Cornell University, visit this site: WildWise Student Projects.
